Congratulations on your upcoming maternity photoshoot! Capturing this special time in your life is a wonderful way to celebrate the journey to motherhood. I want to ensure your experience is seamless and enjoyable. While I provide a stunning client wardrobe, there are a few essential items you should bring. At this point we have already had a styling call and we’ve discussed all your wardrobe options. The list below will help you prepare and fill in some personalized items you need to bring!
Hair and Makeup: Arrive with Clean, Dry Hair
We will begin with hair and makeup when you arrive to the studio. The first hour, hour and half is to help your feel pampered and relaxed. If your family will be in the photoshoot, I suggest for them to arrive to the studio after hair and makeup are complete. This way they are not sitting around waiting and you can enjoy the pampering.
Remove Any Tight Clothing Before the Shoot
To avoid marks on your skin, wear something that is not tight. Upon arriving to the studio, I will provide you with a robe so you are comfortable. This will also help with not getting any makeup or products on your own clothes.
Seamless Nude and Black Underwear
Comfort is key during a maternity shoot, and seamless underwear helps ensure smooth lines under your outfits. Bring nude and black colors, as they are the best options to have under dresses and fabrics.
Strapless Bra
I do have two different sizes in the studio, however, if you have a well-fitting strapless bra please bring it with you. Choose a nude color to avoid any visibility through clothing.
Moisturizer and Hydration
Keep your skin glowing and hydrated by bringing along your favorite moisturizer. Applying it before the shoot will help your skin look radiant. Additionally, bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the session.
Partner and Siblings’ Outfits
If your partner and/or children will be joining the shoot, plan their outfits in advance. Coordinating colors and styles with the maternity wardrobe will create a cohesive and beautiful look. Simple, solid colors often work best.
